Kelly LeBrock gets honest about leaving Hollywood

Kelly LeBrock looks back at ‘running’ away from Hollywood

Kelly LeBrock is a known name from the 1980s, as her hit credits include 1984’s The Woman in Red and 1985’s Weird Science, which made her decision significant when she abruptly left Hollywood.

Now, in an interview with Fox News Digital, she looked back at stepping away from the spotlight. “I ran away. I didn’t step away,” she said. “I ran away. I was never impressed with myself or Hollywood. I never really cared about it. And I did the right thing.”

For the mum-of-three raising her children is more important than her career, which she left at the height of her fame.

“You know, I could always go back to a career, but I couldn’t go back to my children,” the 65-year-old noted.

“And that was the most important thing to me was raising my children, because I grew up in boarding school. At five [years old], I was sent away. And I didn’t want to have that story for my children,” the New York native added.

Away from the limelight, Kelly said she is enjoying a simpler life on her ranch in rural Southern California.

“I have a bevy of animals, which is what I was doing,” she continued. “I was taking care of the chickens and the sheep and the goats and the horses and the dogs and the cats.”

“So, I really ran away,” the Hard to Kill star shared. “I mean, the hardest thing for me is not putting on makeup or trying to look nice. It’s trying to get those chin hairs out of my chin.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kelly expressed excitement for the project she is working on to launch in the future.

“And it’s a whole new world. What can I say? But I’m excited about my future. I’m developing a Kelly Care product, which is going to help people with their wounds for their pets and grooming. And I’m excited about that, but not interested in Hollywood,” she concluded.

  • Hazbin Hotel creators announce Homestuck animated pilot with voice cast including Toby Fox

Hazbin Hotel creators announce Homestuck animated pilot with voice cast including Toby Fox

An animated pilot based on Andrew Hussie’s webcomic Homestuck is in production, created by SpindleHorse, the animation studio founded by Hazbin Hotel creator Vivienne “VivziePop” Medrano.

Homestuck, which ran from 2009 to 2016, became a major internet phenomenon, blending video game references, chatroom culture, music, and layered storytelling.

While the comic officially ended, fan-led projects under Hussie’s guidance have continued. This pilot marks one of the most prominent official adaptations to date.

Medrano gained her own following through independent animation before releasing the self-funded Hazbin Hotel pilot in 2019. The project was later picked up by A24 and Amazon Prime Video, and has since developed a large fanbase.

The Homestuck pilot’s voice cast includes Richard Horvitz as voice director, with performances by Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Cherami Leigh, Brandon Winkler, and Adam McArthur.

Toby Fox, creator of Undertale and a former composer for animated segments of the original Homestuck, is also contributing voice work.

A teaser for the pilot was released alongside the announcement. The adaptation faces the challenge of translating the comic’s distinct humour, irony, and multimedia format into animation.

Much of the original comic used Adobe Flash, and its official website has become difficult to navigate due to outdated technology.

An unofficial version of the comic was reportedly taken offline shortly before the pilot announcement, prompting strong reactions from the fan community.

The pilot is expected to be released online around September, with the potential to secure further funding for a full series.

It will bring together original Homestuck contributors and new creative talent, aiming to reintroduce the story to both long-time fans and a new audience.

Zach Bryan makes major vow on social media

Zach Bryan jokes about never performing in one city

Zach Bryan, a hit country musician, recently took a jibe at the fans of his football rival team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

As a Philadelphia Eagles fan, the Revival singer asked in a recent tweet on X, “Where are all the three peat people from last year?”

It was a dig at Chiefs fans who eyed a three Super Bowl straight wins, but the Eagles dashed their hopes by beating them earlier this year.

This drew a sharp reaction from the fans, leading Zach to joke, “Please understand I will never play in Kansas City. I’ll be about to finish my show and then get a taunting call if I play at that stadium.”

Zach Bryan makes major vow on social media

His seemingly playful banter fits in with what remains of his tour dates in 2025, i.e., Colorado, San Francisco, West Virginia, Notre Dame, and Michigan.

Unlike this interaction, Zach’s earlier chat with a fan was a ‘dream come true’ for him. At the BST Hyde Park festival, he invited a fan to the stage and celebrated his birthday by singing Heading South after he expressed his wish about it. “Life changed. Die a happy man,” Ollie Hawkin wrote in a post on Instagram.

Around 65,000 fans attended the event, leading the 29-year-old to call himself “luckiest man in the world to be here,” as he remembered, “We played Islington Assembly two years ago and we went back there last night. It’s crazy to go from 1000 people there to this crowd.”

“I feel like the luckiest man in the world to be here. I love you so much, London,” Zach concluded.

Oof, today’s NYT Strands puzzle was really hard for me. It was hard to figure out the theme, hard to find the answers and hard to unscramble the letters. And one of the answers relates more to travel gifts in my head than to this puzzle’s theme. If you need hints and answers, read on.

I go into depth about the rules for Strands in this story.

    Hint for today’s Strands puzzle

Today’s Strands theme is: Find the remainder

If that doesn’t help you, here’s a clue: Most of it is gone but this remains.

Clue words to unlock in-game hints

Your goal is to find hidden words that fit the puzzle’s theme. If you’re stuck, find any words you can. Every time you find three words of four letters or more, Strands will reveal one of the theme words. These are the words I used to get those hints but any words of four or more letters that you find will work:

    • REGS, DREG, TARE, STAR, STARE, RATE, CART, CARTE, TEAR, TEARS, RACE, DIVE, DIVED, SEER, NOSE, VOTE, RINSE.

    Answers for today’s Strands puzzle

These are the answers that tie into the theme. The goal of the puzzle is to find them all, including the spangram, a theme word that reaches from one side of the puzzle to the other. When you have all of them (I originally thought there were always eight but learned that the number can vary), every letter on the board will be used. Here are the nonspangram answers:

    • DREGS, TRACE, REMNANT, RESIDUE, VESTIGE, SOUVENIR

  • ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Hits $800 Million Worldwide

‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Hits $800 Million Worldwide

“Weapons,” Zach Cregger’s critically acclaimed horror film about a community rocked by the mysterious disappearance of 17 children, scored at the international box office. The film, which topped domestic charts in its opening weekend, picked up $27.5 million from 73 international markets to bring its global haul to $70 million.

“Weapons” was released by Warner Bros. and New Line and stars Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Benedict Wong and Amy Madigan. It cost a modest $38 million to produce, setting itself up nicely for a very profitable run in theaters. Among the most notable foreign territories, “Weapons” performed well in the U.K., where it earned $3.6 million, Mexico, where it picked up $2.7 million, France, where it nabbed $2 million and Australia, where it grossed $1.8 million. Horror films traditionally perform better in the U.S. than in other parts of the world.

The weekend’s other major new release, Disney’s “Freakier Friday,” earned $15.5 million from 46 international territories. The film is a sequel to 2003’s “Freaky Friday,” and reunites Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan as a mother and daughter who swap bodies. It cost $42 million to produce and has earned $44.5 million worldwide.

Disney and Marvel’s “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” earned $17.5 million internationally over the weekend. That brings the comic book adaptation’s global gross to $434.2 million after three weeks of release. Before COVID, Marvel movies routinely hit $1 billion at the box office, but ticket sales for superhero films have fallen off more recently. “Fantastic Four” may end its run having earned less than “Superman,” which was produced by its rival DC Studios. “Superman’s” global haul stands at $578.8 million after the film earned $5.8 million internationally.

In terms of milestones, Universal’s “Jurassic World Rebirth” earned $16 million overseas, which means it will pass the $800 million mark at some point in the next few hours. That’s an impressive result, but it may not match the more than $1 billion that “Jurassic World Dominion,” the most recent film in the franchise, grossed. It did cost $180 million, which is tens of millions less than other “Jurassic” installments. The studio’s animated sequel, “The Bad Guys 2,” picked up $9.3 million internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $83.9 million.

  • Pregnant Phoebe Waller-Bridge spotted with notes amid Tomb Raider delay

Pregnant Phoebe Waller-Bridge spotted with notes amid Tomb Raider delay

Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the award-winning creator of Fleabag and co-writer of the James Bond film No Time To Die, has sparked speculation about a possible new project after being spotted in north London carrying a folder of notes.

The 40-year-old actress and writer, dressed casually in denim dungarees and a striped T-shirt, was photographed with the folder tucked under her arm — prompting speculation she may be developing a fresh script.

Waller-Bridge signed a landmark $100 million five-year deal with Amazon Studios in 2019 after a bidding war between major Hollywood studios. However, her highly anticipated Tomb Raider TV reboot has reportedly stalled, with industry sources describing the project as “dead.” Plans for filming in early 2025 have yet to materialize, and the recent departure of Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke — the executive who secured Waller-Bridge’s deal — may have further complicated the show’s future.

Sophie Turner, previously rumored to be in talks for the role of Lara Croft, is committed to other projects this year.

Beyond Tomb Raider, Waller-Bridge was originally attached to the Mr. & Mrs. Smith TV adaptation but departed in 2021, with her contributions removed from the final version. She has since taken on select acting roles, including Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and the upcoming fantasy film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey alongside Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell.

Waller-Bridge has been in a relationship with playwright and filmmaker Martin McDonagh since 2017 and has described their creative partnership as mutually inspiring.

Prince Andrew ‘too afraid’ to return to US amid explosive allegations

New biography claims the late Queen knew about Prince Andrew’s ‘conduct and ‘allowed it to happen’

Prince Andrew may ‘never set foot’ on US again, amid severe allegations.

According to sources, the lawmakers are pressing for him to provide testimony under oath about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.

The Duke of York, once branded ‘Air Miles Andy ‘for his relentless jet-set lifestyle, has not travelled to North America in about a decade.

Now new senior sources have shared that he is ‘too terrified’ to even consider making the trip.

It comes after a new biography claims the late Queen knew about his ‘conduct and ‘allowed it to happen,’ reports The Mirror

This follows the FBI shelving its probe it into his ties with Epstein and Donald Trump reversing his campaign promise to release all files detailing his former friend’s criminal activities.

One Washington insider told The Mirror: ‘If Prince Andrew sets foot on US soil again, he will met with an avalanche of political, legal and media scrutiny.

He knows it and so does Buckingham Palace. The safest option for him is to stay put in britain and hope the storm dies down. But it won’t.’

Meanwhile, her eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, celebrated her 37th birthday on 8th August, 2025.

The royal is believed to have marked the occasion privately with her husband and child, away from the public eye, amid fresh allegations about her famous parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, made by royal biographer Andrew Lownie in his upcoming book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York.
